As a Mother to two daughters, one with special needs, Amy understands the unique issues facing the state of Delaware's education system. Being a first-hand witness to the lack of institutional structure, Amy will focus on grades, discipline, structure, and accountability. Amy has served on the PTO for multiple schools so she could work with educators to ensure students received the best education and teachers received the resources they needed. Amy looks to use her elected position to make Delaware schools more accessible for children with special needs.
A mother with young children, Amy understands the necessity of reliable healthcare. For too long, Delawareans have suffered the effects of a broken system that prioritizes sickness over wellness. Amy’s experience within the special needs community gives her a unique foundation for addressing Delaware’s healthcare system. Amy is able to recognize the gaps in the quality of healthcare services and advocate for local communities.
Amy is an avid supporter of small businesses and local arts. She served on the board of the Greater Dover Arts Council and the Dover Art League and knows firsthand the obstacles that small businesses and local artists face. Amy believes that our communities thrive when local businesses, not chain stores, are on our street corners because our small businesses give back to our community. Amy will fight for the small businesses and local arts in Dover.
Amy is a proud longtime Dover resident. Having raised her family in the Dover community, she is deeply saddened by the current state of the once-thriving city. In office, Amy will support legislation to improve the infrastructure of local communities throughout Delaware. Hardworking Delawareans deserve clean streets and accessible resources.
Living in Dover, Amy is saddened by the amount of homeless population our city has. In the House, Amy will create a commission to investigate the root cause of homelessness and implement solutions to clean up our communities. Amy will help this vulnerable community and improve their situation. In Dover, Amy will support a mentorship program to help this population with job hunting and resumes. Amy plans to treat our homeless population with kindness while helping them get off of the streets.
Amy is proud to support our veterans. Living abroad has made her appreciate our American military, and she will work to make their transition into civilian life as seamless as possible. Amy will advocate for increased mental health resources for our veterans in Delaware and work to make their healthcare more affordable.
